Chick Deviled Eggs

Instructions

  1. Hard boil eggs then peel
  2. With a sharp knife, cut the top third off each egg and remove the yolk. Mash the yolks in a bowl and make your favourite deviled egg recipe
  3. Refill the larger bottom portion of each egg, using a small spoon or piping bag. Mound the top of the filling and cap with the top portion of the egg
  4. Add a tiny triangle of carrot to each egg for the beak and bits of black olives for the eyes
  5. Chill at least 30 minutes before serving

Tips

  • if you want chicks to stand alone on the plate, cut a thin straight slice from the wider bottom end of each egg OR if you prefer the chicks to nest together on a bed of shredded lettuce then no need to cut the bottoms
  • create your own piping bag by cutting the corner off a small zip-lock bag
